Made it through the first month!

Hey Everyone!

Sorry we haven't been able to update as much as we'd like. Lots of changes around the house. Emily is doing great and adjusting well to her new life. She is sleeping through the night and is adhering to a strict schedule, but it's paying off for everyone.

The Bug is completely just amorous with his new little sister. He loves holding her and tickling her feet and rocking her in her rocker chair. He's so proud!

Max is doing well with the transition. He doesn't seem to mind and if she gets worked up he just heads outside and lays in the grass.

Here she is!

Hey everyone! Sorry for the delayed post!

Emily Grace was born on May 10th at 838am and weighed 6lb 14 oz (exactly two pounds less than her brother) and 20.5".

Here are some of her first pictures.

Finally at home! Nap time with daddy.

The bug came to the hospital and met her little sister. He loves her and was very excited.

Hopefully the next post won't be so far off!

Big baby comin' through!

Hey everyone! We had another appointment yesterday and it went great. Her little heartbeat is still an amazement. Dr. said she's a big baby and we asked how big he thinks she'll be. He said probably around the same size as the Bug (he was 8lb 15 oz.). Everything turned out fine at the appt. and we're now down to two weekly appointments. Two!! It's been a crazy journey, but she's definitely ready to come out and we're ready to welcome her! Still no name yet, we're thinking we're going to have to meet her first. Danielle's too picky. Everything else is going great! The sun is finally shinning and hopefully we can say goodbye to the snowflakes for the season!

2.5 weeks left!!! :)

Happy Mother's Day! (Literally)

So we just got news from our Dr. that our c-section is scheduled for May 10th, 2009 (Mother's day.. Perfect right?) at 7:30 a.m.! We couldn't be more excited :)

Come out and play!

Hey everyone!

So, exciting news this week from the Dr.'s office. We're scheduled to have the c-section some where between May 10-12. We will know the exact date and time soon, he has to check his schedule but he said within those dates. The reason is it's a week earlier than the due date is so water doesn't break and we go into labor. It just depends on whether or not our Dr. is on call! We're really excited to see our baby girl! Unfortunately, there won't be an ultra-sound before the baby is here so the next time we see here it will be in her all-natural goodness! Just easier for everyone involved and she is growin' like a champ and her heart is doing wonderful too, so no concerns! Great news!!! :D

Dr. also said Danielle's diet is doing well and she has gained the correct amount, so no extra love like there was after the bug. Woohoo! (Actually lost weight this week. 4 LB! woohoo!). He also said Danielle should be up and running within 4-6 weeks and it will be a quicker recovery than with the bug.

Things are going well around the casa. The bug is super excited to be a big brother. He keep's tickling the belly to see if she will kick. He's excited to take her for walks around the park and help push the stroller and introduce her to Voltron. *rockin*

Our next appointment is in 3 weeks! Look for an update then!

Pour some sugar on me!

Hey Everyone! We had another appointment on Monday. Baby girl is doing well. She was 31 cm, a little big, but it happens. The glucose test came back high so we had to go and do an extensive 4.5 hour test on Thursday. (Let me tell ya, 17 hours fasting for a preggo is no way to go). We just got the results back and everything is fine. (happy dance). We now move to appointments every two weeks since we're now in the final countdown. Around week 36 they will become weekly. We still haven't named her yet. We have a few more ideas, but everyone seems to be having girls this year. We've known 5 little girls so-far and 2-3 more left to go (besides us!). Insanity!

See ya in two weeks!

Oh Sugar Sugar

Hey everyone. So we had another appointment yesterday and it went fabulously. We were supposed to get the gestational diabetes test done yesterday also but since we didn't have the glucose drink (see the delicious picture on the right.. :S), we get to wait for our next appointment to get poked. They will also take an iron test but the Dr. said he wasn't worried about it since the originally blood count was one of the highest he'd ever seen. (Pumpin' iron, through the veins.. oh yeah!).

We also received the results back from the blood tests regaurding diseases. Neither one of us are a carrier (for any birth related diseases) so we're all good. After taking the tests it showed a significant drop of the chances of any retardation or anything compared to the national average. Go us!

She's about 13 1/2 inches and weighs about a pound and a half. The due date has been fluctuating within 5 days plus or minus, but the Dr. said it's best to keep it at the May 17th date since that's what it seems to be rotating around.

As far as names, we're still working on it!!! We've kind rotated around 2 or 3 we like, but probably won't be sticking with anything until we see her. The Bug's name was switched 2 weeks before he was born, so you never know. (For those of you who don't know, The Bug is Patrick. ;) )

'Til next time,

It's a....

Baby girl!! We went last week for an ultrasound and found out we're going to have a beautiful girl. The Dr. giving the ultra sound was one we hadnt seen before (or so we would have assumed), said the baby was of appropriate size and everything to be due around the same date as expected. It turns out he was a Dr. that had seen the bug while he was in the hospital a few years prior. It was nice to see a familiar face amongst all of the mystery, wonder, and uncertainty. He wished us well and handed off the following pictures to us as we left..

Face, chin, and little hands

She's definately going to have her daddy's big ol' feet

After about an hour of lady-like-ness, she finally uncrossed her legs and we found out she was a girl.

The morning sickness and tiredness has finally subsided. Shes kicking like a ninja and especially when she hears her daddy or feels him rubbin' the belly. She will be spoiled regardless of her daddy's beggings not to be.

If most of you haven't heard the wonderful news, there it is. For those who don't know, we're going anti-pink to open room for creativity. I know you're thinking "Hey! there's pink in this blog!! Why can't we do pink too??" Well, I'm the mommy, and I designed the page... so therefore, I can.. :P

Stay tuned!,

Merry Christmas!

19 week baby bump! You asked, here it is!

Say Whaaat?

So, the beginning of September we receive an urgent e-mail.

"Dear Alex & Danielle,

Ready or not....

Anxiously yours,

The infamous stork."

We found out we were expecting.. shock and amaze were definately involved, soon followed by excitement and panic.

Without further ado, here are the first pictures of Baby Roach .. (at that time we didn't know the sex)..

11 weeks old = torso

11 weeks old = baby butt and feet

Welcome to our blog.

Well we figured we'd join the rest of society and finally give into the world of blogging. But one question lingered, what subject?

Well obviously our talent and good looks were our first idea, but as years have taught us, it bores people greatly and chances are people would stop visiting after seeing our faces and soon block us from their children's browsers. ;)

So the biggest thing in our life next to our sarcasm and self-entertainment is our new baby girl who is due on May 17th.

Welcome to our blog. Enjoy. Leave comments. Subscribe to the feed to read all of the latest updates on Baby girl Roach.

With love,
